Choosing Your Paddle Length

The right paddle length depends on your height, torso size, boat width, and paddling style. As a general guideline:

  • Shorter paddlers (under ~5'6") → 194–197 cm paddle
  • Average height paddlers (~5'6"–6') → 197–200 cm paddle
  • Taller paddlers (over ~6') or wider boats → 200 cm paddle

For packrafting, a slightly longer paddle is often preferred because packrafts sit higher on the water than traditional kayaks.
